jus heard over the radio, that there is alot more pictures/videos of singaporean school children acting intimately in public and parents (gasp!) are alarmed by this. k, seems normal, parents freaking out over young adolescent childrenhere's the questionable part... are they concenred abt such images appearing over the net in growing numbers? or are they concerned abt such acts of "affection" that our kids display these days?then the radio show goes on to talk abt how parents are demanding that the schools (!!!) do something to curb this growth. that's where it jus snapped the wire:Parents, being parents, are the ones ultimately reponsible for the upbringing of their kids, no one else but the kid and their parents shouldbe made responsible for the moral standards of the student. agreed, that the school is where the children spends most of their waking hours in and thus the school is the "best" place for such education. but for parents to push for such demands, that "this is the school's fault! they should be the ones that educate and tell our kids what to do and wad not to do!!!" that is so bull crap.please, if you actaully decided to have unprotected sex, decided against an abortion and deliver a life into the world, please be mature and "grown up" to say that the child is YOURS and its moral values are supposed to be inculcated by YOURSELF. how can it become the school's sole (or more) responsibility over the up bringing of the child or teenager when you, being the parent, is the one that the kid grew up with all the time??? the arguement that you pay money for the education and taxes to the governemnt and thus it should be the school's and the government's responsibility to inculcate these values into your hormones-bursting-raging kids jus simply cannot hold water. its the parents, at the end of the day, that should talk to the kid.at the end of the day, if, as parents, they are unable to sit down with their kids once a day, talk abt issues wif thema nd witht he family, and maturely bring the message across to the kids abt morality or behaviours that you think its desirable and undesirable. then i would strongly suggest that these couples that call themselves parents hv jus disastrously failed in parenting and should give up their child to the state. parents, grow up.
