time has come, another week coming to an end, at least for the working ppl. tml markst he end of the company tactics course i'm attending... must say that i've benefitted alot form this course, really gave me an eye opener to SAF and the big range of stuff that we're capable of doing n have, also gave me the necessary break from the work in 6SIR. funny, it also kinda inspired me back to the level i had when i jus commissioned, that othing is impossible n signing on is actually a possibility!!! haha but knowing the reality has allowed me to refrain from making crazy decisions...

well, comd AOAS gave another inspiring talk/ closing session yesterday, he spoke of commitment, of priorities in life, of our personal vision and personal learning goals. he mentioned about the change in SAF, that its ongoing, and he mentioned a very important that that struck me deeply. He was mentioning about purpose in serving SAF and he said this, that if we find not a single reason why we are doing this for the army/SAF, when we cannot find any reason fro ourselves, take this reason: because of Singapore. because we are groomed and cultivated to become leaders of the organisation. because the entire army's compass comes from the corps. because while the other NSFs may have 1001 reasons why they should NOT serve NS, the officers MUST be the one that gives them the reason to serve. and most importantly, because at the end of the day, the officer carries the banner of the organisation, not jus the majors, LTCs, colonels, generals, every officer in the SAF bears responsibility to keep this banner flying at all times.

His words struck me hard, the need to defend our land for us 18, 19, 20 yr olds may not be that obvious yet, but ask the NSman who have lived all his life in singapore, who have lived off this land, who have built a family and have built up a business and have a CPF account in the country, that his stake in the country is obvious and the reason may even well be simply: because it is HOME. yeap here is another NE lesson by yours truely, sounds damn cliche and super like as if it came out from the NE comittee... but i hope to at least influence others and those ard me of the reason for NS.

Another thing that had me thinking comes from this book titled: SIX DAYS, its about the six day war in the middle east during 1967 when Israel on the offensivea against the surrounding hostile neighbours like Syria, Jordan and Egypt. from the book i saw how singapore is trying to tie down our NS structure similar with that of the Israel defence force. quite an interesting read... more of history than a bory military text...

yesterday met up with shiwei and jianfu at jurong point after i booked out. really nice to have met up and jus whiled some time away with them. jianfu is in the 3rd week of ST1 already, haha jus about 35 more weeks befoe he steps up onto the parade square and off it as another commissioned officer of the SAF... wish him good luck and enjoy the journey... was deciding whether or not to go meet upw ith an liang, yeen teck, gds ben, kai xiang, kuek, wei hao, edwin at zouk, still trying to decide, accompanied shiwei to her hostel while still deciding... finally decided not to go and get choked by the crowd.. true enough, they didn't managed to get in but eventually they did hang out else where, at least not a night wasted for them.. haha...

hmmm gonna book in soon, another week will come soon, and Advance Infantry Officers Course shall begin shortly after... well, gonna miss the support arms and armour guys from CTC man,,, dun think i can replicatet he atmosphere and rapport we have developed over the past few weeks in the aioc syndicates...haha but jus try, take things as they come,,, haha....

parting quote:
If you want the change in all around you, BE THE CHANGE...
